real time gps tracking system : GPRS Coverage Maps

GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is an extension to the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) to include packet data services. GSM is the most widely used standard in the world today with more than 1 billion users worldwide. GPRS offers higher capacity for packet-based data service. GPRS is up to ten times as fast as current Circuit Switched Data services (theoretical data speeds of up to 115kbit/s) and service is available on both Cingular and T-Mobile in the United States as well as Fido in Canada.

All maps represent general markets with limited to excellent real-time coverage. Coverage varies depending on antenna type, antenna placement, new tower construction, tower deactivation, zip code changes, terrain and other environmental conditions that will cause the coverage area to differ from that depicted on the map. In general, the farther you travel from population centers the weaker the coverage is. The GO Live systems stores data outside of the coverage area for later transmission if a tower is not in range when the data is collected. REAL-TIME SYSTEMS DO NOT WORK IN ALL AREAS.
