GPS Vehicle Tracking In Real-time

Many of our GPS vehicle tracking units offer real-time delivery of information. With some GPS tracking units, you can actually watch the tracked vehicle move across your computer screen. Other vehicle tracking systems show you the history of travel at 15-minute intervals. Our real time tracking units will let you immediately know the direction, street, speed, and exact location of your vehicle within 15 meters.

GPS Vehicle Tracking Recorders

Looking for a more economical GPS solution? GPS vehicle tracking recorders offer a lower priced system with practically the same features as real time tracking device, but with no monthly charges. The only difference between the real time tracking and vehicle tracking recorders is that recorders "record" the data for viewing at another time, while a real time tracking device displays current data right before your eyes. Recorders require you to take the unit out of the car to download the tracking record.
Whether you choose the Thief-Track; our answer to LoJack ® or another GPS tracking system, GPS on Sale.com has your GPS unit ready to follow your vehicle’s every mile.

real time gps tracking system : GPRS Coverage Maps

GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is an extension to the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) to include packet data services. GSM is the most widely used standard in the world today with more than 1 billion users worldwide. GPRS offers higher capacity for packet-based data service. GPRS is up to ten times as fast as current Circuit Switched Data services (theoretical data speeds of up to 115kbit/s) and service is available on both Cingular and T-Mobile in the United States as well as Fido in Canada.

All maps represent general markets with limited to excellent real-time coverage. Coverage varies depending on antenna type, antenna placement, new tower construction, tower deactivation, zip code changes, terrain and other environmental conditions that will cause the coverage area to differ from that depicted on the map. In general, the farther you travel from population centers the weaker the coverage is. The GO Live systems stores data outside of the coverage area for later transmission if a tower is not in range when the data is collected. REAL-TIME SYSTEMS DO NOT WORK IN ALL AREAS.

real time gps tracking system : One Database for All Systems

The best part of the Checkmate system is that all devices can work together by sending their data to one centralized data base using SQL SVR (not provided). This allows companies with mixed tracking needs to only use real time vehicle tracking units on a limited number of vehicles therefore minimizing the monthly airtime rates. The GO Mobile device also reports data to the centralized data based and offers a fleet management tool for sales reps or for use in personal vehicles.

Possible Applications:
Checkmate offers a platform for all fleet sizes. The building block approach allows the smallest fleets to start with the GO Key system, update to GO RF and implement GO Live or GO Mobile when fleet tracking requirements change. Large organizations can centralize a SQL SVR database and have multiple GO platforms reporting to one centralized data base for the entire country. Checkmate is the only system on the market today that provides customers the flexibility to have multiple systems sharing one data data base, using one software application and providing similar data among all platforms.

Mode of Operation:
High resolution data recorder (passive) or real time vehicle tracker version. Data from both systems will be available in the Checkmate® software.

Communication Method:
Data is transferred from the vehicle using the GPRS network for real time applications (GO Live & GO Mobile).

real time gps tracking system : GO Live (Real Time GPS)

System Overview

GO LIVE - GEOTAB's new Real Time GPS Integration uses the GSM/GPRS Network to send highly detailed tracking and exception information. Now for the first time ever, customers can use both passive and real time technology throughout their fleet.

GEOTAB is now offering a real-time system called GO Live. GO Live provides updates from 30-300 seconds depending on vehicle activity, not time intervals. This unique reporting method provides the same detail as a passive tracking system but in a live mode using GPRS and Edge technology. The GO Live modem allows customers starting with a GO RF or GO Key units the flexibility to upgrade at a future date to real time vehicle tracking as fleet requirements change. (added costs apply for the conversion).

The GO Live GMS/GPRS units include an external GPRS modem that will run on the Cingular wireless GPRS/Edge network in the United States and the Rogers Wireless network in Canada. Extensive real time vehicle tracking coverage is available in most populated areas of the USA (Conus), Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Data can be sent TRUE Live (as logs are registered according to the GEOTAB parameters) they are sent – or - log records can be bundled and sent in the standard small packets of 12 logs throughout the day. The unit records and reports exactly as the GO Key and GO RF systems including Driver ID, accident memory, speed buzzer features and can monitor PTO activity and auxiliary sensors.

real time gps tracking system - What Is It?

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a constellation of 24 satellites, which provide information to a GPS receiver, so that software in the receiver can determine a position in three dimensions (altitude, latitude, and longitude).

GPS tracking devices were originally developed by the U.S. Department of Defense for use in precision weapon delivery. The initial satellites were launched between 1974 and 1977. During the Clinton administration, use of the system’s additional bandwidth was opened for civilian use. This move, combined with recent advances in personal technologies was the catalyst for an explosive surge in GPS market opportunities and intelligent applications. There are two types of GPS tracking: passive and real time. A passive GPS tracker will record travel activities and positions, which can be downloaded to a computer. A real time GPS tracking system will show its position, live.

Today, GPS tracking systems are more common to the general public. GPS tracking units are most commonly used for the following uses:

1. Auto Theft Prevention - www.TrackYourVehicle.net2. Vehicle Tracking - www.rmtracking.com3. Asset Protection - www.ConstructionGPS.net4. Fleet Tracking & Management - www.ManageMyFleet.com

real time gps tracking system: Hundreds Of Ways

GPS tracking is an excellent tool to use and take advantage of throughout our lives. This was once thought of as a system that only could be used for government and state agencies. But, through its development, it has become a force to contend with. There are many ways in which you can benefit from using GPS tracking in your daily lives. And, you will not believe how easy it is to use either!

As a simple definition of how it works, we’ll tell you this. In space, orbiting around the earth are satellites. They help us to use GPS tracking by allowing us to connect with them and they can then tell us where we are going or where we are. It happens instantly and is capable of reaching destinations around the world.
Here are some ways that you will find GPS tracking working for you.

• GPS tracking can help you on any hike that you take, any outing that you take in which it is just you and nature. It can help to steer you and tell you which way is the right way to go.

• It can also help you within a car. Many cars are being equipped with GPS tracking devices. If you need to go to one location or the next, you simply input this and it will tell you where you are, how to get there and even talk to you about each step that you are going to need to take. It can also help in your safety as well as your cars. If your car is stolen or you are taken against your will, many GPS tracking systems can be used to track down just where the car is heading and where it is.

• GPS tracking helps ships guide you from one place to the next as well.

• In fact, GPS tracking can even help you monitor your health. Wearing a heart rate monitor with GPS tracking is a great way to know when you have reached your goals. But you will also be able to know how long it took you to get from point A to point B as well. By Leon Chaddock
